V Varun Chaudhry

V Varun Chaudhry (he/they) is currently an Assistant Professor of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at Brandeis University, where he teaches courses in transgender studies, sexuality and queer studies, and LGBTQ and feminist social movements. They are also currently serving as a Racial Justice consultant for Transponder in Eugene, OR and a Name Change co-facilitator for Girls Rock Philly. V is also working with Out in Research and Suzy, Inc. on completing a guide to LGBTQ market research.

V received his doctorate in Cultural Anthropology, with a certificate in Gender and Sexuality Studies, from Northwestern University in 2019. V’s scholarship focuses on nonprofit organizations and foundations, transgender and gender nonconforming communities of color, and black feminism. His writing appears or is forthcoming in GLQ: A Journal of Lesbian and Gay StudiesSigns: Journal of Women and Culture in SocietyTransgender Studies Quarterly (TSQ), American Anthropologist, and Critical Inquiry. He also served as the primary author for TRANSForming Inclusion: An Organizational Guide, published by the Leeway Foundation in November 2018.
