Bailey Flynn

PhD Candidate in Rhetoric and Public Culture | GSS TA 2021-22

Bailey Flynn is a fourth-year PhD candidate based in the Department of Rhetoric and Public Culture and the Gender & Sexuality Studies Program at Northwestern. She is a researcher, writer, and community advocate, working with Chicago-area organizations including Resilience (formerly Rape Victim Advocates) and the Chicago Torture Justice Center. Her current research focuses on the articulation of physical pain as a site of identity negotiation. She is also a 2020-2021 recipient of the Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor Award for her previous teaching experience in the School of Communication.

In Spring 2022, she will be teaching her own GNDR_ST 390 course "Feminist Environmentalist Rhetoric."
