VISITING ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN GENDER & SEXUALITY STUDIES

NORTHWESTERN UNIVERSITY, The Program in Gender & Sexuality Studies invites applications for a one-year visiting appointment beginning September 1, 2020 at the rank of Visiting Assistant Professor for a specialist in Black feminisms. We are particularly interested in a scholar whose work &/or teaching in this area also intersects with sexuality studies. The successful candidate will teach 6 courses, 2 courses each in fall, winter and spring quarters, including an upper-division seminar on “Black Feminist Theory.” The remaining courses may include seminar courses in their areas of expertise and a 2-course senior thesis seminar sequence in fall and winter, which guides the 4-6 senior thesis students on framing their research questions and designing their research trajectory in fall quarter and on drafting their argument in winter quarter. PhD required, with work in women’s, gender &/or sexuality studies or related fields.
